As an independent working chef I, you will have the freedom to create your own dishes while being an integral part of a dedicated team that prioritizes excellence and creativity.

We require relocation to the Netherlands and the position is based in Utrecht. The role is full‑time, 38 hours per week.

Responsibilities

To prepare and supervise dishes.

Evaluate the quality of ingredients and prepare necessary tools.

Handle preparatory work such as washing, cutting, mixing, etc., and prepare parts of dishes simultaneously.

Perform interim quality checks for doneness, taste, color, flowability, etc., and adjust or add as necessary.

Prepare orders for passing on to helpers.

Ensure work is carried out in accordance with regulations (HACCP, occupational safety, etc.).

Plan daily activities, order food and supplies, receive, check, and store ordered items.

Monitor the shelf life and hygiene of inventory.

Clean the work environment and kitchen equipment; dispose of waste.

Identify issues or deficiencies and resolve minor malfunctions independently.

Check and account for used quantities of ingredients and semi‑finished products.

Contribute to menu, work instructions, etc.

Develop or adjust recipes and discuss any deviations in menus; translate proposals into recipe instructions.

Requirements

MBO level 3 work and thinking level.

Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

Shows interest in others and what concerns them.
