We are supporting an international technology company in hiring a System Solution Engineer for its customers in the Utrecht area. The company delivers complex, mission‑critical platforms that combine hardware, software and supporting infrastructure for customers worldwide. Its global engineering, services, lab and R&D teams work together on a modern product platform built around open‑source technologies and a microservices architecture. In this role, you will be the core technical representative in the Netherlands, working directly with local clients while collaborating closely with colleagues abroad
About the role In this role you will be responsible for the support of hardware, software and infrastructure operations, working remotely and on their clients’ sites in the Netherlands. Your daily work centers on analyzing and resolving L2 issues in both software and hardware, on top of a new product platform based on open‑source technologies and microservices. You will act as the primary technical contact and subject matter expert that partners andcustomers turn to when they need advice or escalation. To do this, you will coordinate frequently with engineering, services, laboratory, R&D and business teams worldwide, making sure that complex situations are handled quickly and professionally.
Responsibilities
Act as the core focal point in the Netherlands for hardware, software and infrastructure operations, remotely and on client sites around Utrecht
Be the main person of contact and subject matter expert that partners and clients trust for critical issues and guidance
Own L2 cases, diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware problems on a modern, open‑source, microservices‑based platform
Provide hands‑on IT support across hardware and software, including installation, configuration and deployment
Work with global teams to resolve issues, using support methodologies and tools and meeting defined KPIs
Requirements
3+ years in technical support, professional services, R&D or similar
1-2+ years as a field/support engineer with both HW and SW
Admin‑level experience with Linux and Windows
Ability to analyze complex, distributed systems; strong client‑facing skills; comfortable as main technical contact
Experience with storage, virtualization and monitoring tools– is a plus
Willing to work hybrid and visit client sites around Utrecht
Native Dutch and excellent English
