Project Overview:

The IguideME core team (project leader, head ICT, senior educational consultant) has a NWO/UvA project that appears to be going on the spinout trajectory. To support this process, the team needs a part-time business developer to better develop the commercial feasibility of the project. The project, IguideME, is a learning analytics dashboard that provides automated personalized feedback to both students and lecturers, fostering self-regulated learning and preventing study delays and drop-outs. With unique features such as a holistic approach, peer comparison, and customizable feedback, IguideME has proven its effectiveness in beta courses.Position Overview:

We are seeking a Part-Time Business Developer with a strong background in the business of education software. The successful candidate will assess the commercial prospects of IguideME and lead the foundation of our startup. This opportunity arises from a grant for initial commercial business development, and the candidate will play a crucial role in studying the feasibility of the project/startup, validating potential revenue models, and overseeing technical developments. If it is assessed that there is a commercially viable business, the business developer will be considered for a future founding CEO role in the startup.Requirements

Key Responsibilities: Commercial Feasibility Assessment: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer research to evaluate the commercial viability of IguideME. Collaborate with the core team research assistants, and a market research specialist to gather insights. Technical Feasibility and Development:Collaborate with the core team and a specialist in software development to understand future development and maintenance costs. Capture needs from customer segments to enhance the platform's functionalities, ensuring technological feasibility. Collaborate with the core team to develop a technical module enabling comparison of individual courses within the dashboard.Educational Software Experience: Demonstrate experience with education software. Showcase understanding of learning analytics dashboards and their role in enhancing educational quality. Strategic Planning: Update the Business Model based on market insights and potential investors. Contribute to the design and personnel planning for the startup/spin-off, anticipating the establishment after the completion of the feasibility study.Requirements: Proven experience in business development, market research, and strategic planning. Strong background in the business of education software. Familiarity with top learning management system providers in the Netherlands. Familiarity with learning analytics dashboards. Leadership ability, good communication and collaboration skills.Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for education technology. Milestones and Time Schedule: Project kickoff target end Q1. Indicative project schedule: Month 1-2: Technical development initiation and market research. Month 3: Technical development implementation and customer survey.
