Network Engineer (Junior)– Secure IT Environments Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands Residency Requirement: Candidates must currently reside in or near Eindhoven Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2026 Experience Level: 0–4 years Working Pattern: 40 hours per week

Overview We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support secure IT infrastructure operations within a highly regulated and security-focused environment.

This role is ideal for a junior engineer with foundational networking knowledge who is interested in secure environments, infrastructure governance, and operational compliance. You will support network and infrastructure change activities, compliance reviews, documentation, and coordination tasks while working closely with senior engineers and security stakeholders.

The role is execution-focused and does not include final decision‑making authority or ownership of secure environments.

Key Responsibilities Network&Infrastructure Support

Support the review of network and infrastructure‑related change requests, including:

Firewall rule changes

Connectivity requests

Access requests

Validate requests against predefined standards and operational procedures

Assist with follow‑ups where clarification or corrections are required

Perform compliance and configuration reviews against established guidelines

Secure Environment&Compliance Support

Assist in ensuring infrastructure changes comply with secure environment requirements

Support audit preparation and evidence collection activities

Maintain structured operational and compliance documentation

Escalate deviations and policy gaps through established channels

Operational Coordination

Participate in operational and workload coordination meetings

Work with:

Infrastructure architects

Security stakeholders

Service request teams

Support handover and transition activities with clear documentation

Documentation&Reporting

Maintain operational tracking documents and approval overviews

Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and audit‑ready

Follow defined processes for approvals and operational records

Scope&Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of senior Secure IT Environment staff

Execute tasks using predefined templates, standards, and review criteria

No responsibility for:

Final architecture approvals

Security policy exceptions

Ownership of secure environments

Networking fundamentals:

IP addressing

Ports and protocols

Routing and segmentation concepts

Firewall rule structures

Secure or segmented IT environments

Service request and ticketing workflows

Professional Skills

Strong attention to detail

Structured and process‑oriented approach

Good written communication skills

Ability to follow procedures and elevate when required

Tools&Technologies Familiarity with:

Ticketing and approval systems

Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools

Documentation and tracking templates

Enterprise IT operational environments

Important Requirements / Potential Disqualifiers Candidates may be unsuitable if they:

Cannot commit to 4 days onsite per week in Eindhoven

Prefer IT Operations‑focused roles over governance/compliance support work

Do not currently reside in or near Eindhoven
