Senior Test Automation Engineer - Banking&Web/Mobile, Amsterdam

Responsibilities

Help design, build and continuously improve the clients online platform.

Research, suggest and implement new technology solutions following best practices/standards.

Take responsibility for the resiliency and availability of different products.

Requirements

10+ years of strong technical experience in Test Automation.

Minimum 5 years of experience leading the design and development of automation frameworks and managing end-to-end automation testing strategies for large-scale applications.

Hands‑on experience with Selenium and Appium automation frameworks.

Strong experience with Continuous Integration and CI/CD practices.

Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall environments.

Proven testing experience in banking and online system environments.

Experience in automation testing across Web, Mobile, and Web Services platforms.

Expertise in test tool evaluation, selection, and framework implementation.

Strong programming skills in Java and/or JavaScript.

Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins and Maven.

Hands‑on experience with qTest or similar test management tools.

Experience implementing TDD/BDD frameworks and practices.

Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch, including regression suite setup using Selenium.

Strong expertise in automation scripting and framework development.

Working knowledge of REST API testing and SQL database validation.

Exposure to or experience with Azure Cloud environments.

Good understanding of Web Services technologies such as REST and SOAP.

Ability to independently manage and coordinate testing activities based on project plans and timelines.

Experience managing defects through resolution, retesting, and closure.

Ability to proactively identify risks and communicate issues to Project Managers and Test Managers before impacting project schedules.

Highly disciplined, adaptable, and capable of working effectively under pressure.

Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities with a proactive and innovative mindset.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Experience working within large and complex organizations, preferably in the financial services sector.

Proven ability to lead and coordinate large testing teams and vendor resources.

Experience mentoring, coaching, and guiding junior team members.

Ability to identify training needs and coordinate technical upskilling initiatives.

Extensive experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

Strong focus on aligning testing objectives with business requirements and product risks.

Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
