Software Engineer (Agentic World, Java, integration)– Hybrid – Amsterdam Hourly rate: €60 - €90 Duration: 6 months Hybrid: 2 days on site Start: ASAP

My client is looking for a Developer who delivers high-quality software solutions based on requirements from the Engineering Manager and Product Owner. Working within a team, they write clean, maintainable code with minimal supervision, applying best practices such as SOLID and DRY principles. The role requires an engineering mindset, with the ability to build scalable integrations, work in an agentic (AI-driven) environment, and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve productivity and solution quality.

Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain software applications using appropriate technologies Write clean, reusable, and efficient code following standard design patterns Use AI tools and agentic workflows to enhance development efficiency and code quality Design and build system integrations across services and platformsEnsure application quality, security, and performance through testing and best practices Monitor and support applications in production, addressing issues as needed Contribute to system design with a strong engineering perspective (scalability, reliability, maintainability) Resolve incidents and drive continuous improvement through root cause analysisCommunicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3–7 years of relevant experience Experience with AI-assisted development / code generation tools Familiarity with system integration and distributed systems Strong engineering mindset with problem-solving and critical thinking skillsGood communication and collaboration abilities Experience with continuous improvement practices
