Product Controller, Amsterdam

Our client, a global proprietary trading firm, is seeking an Associate to join the Middle Office team. As part of this team, the Associate will identify, investigate and reconcile trade, position and cash exceptions working directly with trading desks, clearing firms, exchanges and brokers.

Responsibilities: Responsible for daily P&L substantiation, reconciliations, and management reporting Reconcile trading fees with exchanges and clearing brokers, investigating and resolving discrepancies Process and review broker and exchange invoices, addressing any issues or queries Identify, investigate, and resolve trade, position, and cash reconciliation breaksContinuously review Middle Office processes and procedures to improve efficiency and controls Liaise with Back Office and BI/IT teams to support enhancements to Middle Office systems and tools Provide operational support across multiple trading desks Perform ad hoc portfolio analysis and support project-related workCoordinate cash transfers to meet funding and settlement requirements Partner with Finance during month-end close to support accounting processes

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics and Accounting is preferred Min. 5 years of working experience in a similar role at an Investment Bank, Pension/Hedge Fund, Asset Management Accounting/Finance experience is highly desirable Experience with derivative products is highly desirableExperience with Power and Energy commodities or FX is beneficial Strong Excel skills (VBA Macro experience preferred) Basic Python (coding) skills and SQL skills are preferred Experience with trade settlement with clearing firms, or processing invoices is desirable Motivated, proactive and with ability to adapt and embrace new technologiesStrong problem-solving skills, and proven track record of improving processes Tenacious, dynamic and curious personality with strong interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
