Senior Network Migration Architect, Amsterdam

Role: Senior Network Migration Architect / lead– Zero Trust Location: Eindhoven, NL

Description: This role is the highest technical authority within the security program, combining expert-level Zero Trust design with a disciplined approach to technical project delivery. You will be responsible for the architectural blueprints and the successful execution of complex global migrations, ensuring that engineering works are delivered on time using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

Core Architectural&Delivery Responsibilities· Zero Trust Architectural Design: Define and govern the global transition to a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), moving the organization from legacy perimeter security to identity-based access (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA/Identity). · Structured Project Delivery: Lead the technical workstreams of the securityprogram using Waterfall (for large-scale infrastructure rollouts) and Agile/Scrum (for iterative automation and feature development) to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.· Migration Strategy&Execution: Architect and oversee complex legacy-to-modern migrations, specifically moving users and applications from traditional Cisco Proxy/VPN and firewalls to cloud-native Zero Trust environments without business disruption.· Automation Governance: Drive the "Security as Code" initiative by integrating Python APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC (Terraform/Ansible) into the standard project delivery lifecycle.· Engineering Quality&POCs: Lead high-stakes Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives, validating that new enhancements or products meet technical requirements before being moved into the migration pipeline.· Technical Stakeholder Liaison: Bridge the gap between engineering teams and project managers, providing deep-dive technical insights to help refine project timelines, risks, and resource requirements.

Expert Skillset (Must-Haves)· Zero Trust&Cisco Mastery: Expert architecture and engineering of Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, Identity) and the Cisco Security Stack (Firepower, ISE, WSA).· Delivery Methodology: Proven experience delivering technical projects under both Agile (Sprints, Backlog management) and Waterfall (Milestones, GANTT, critical path) frameworks.· Migration Expertise: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale enterprise migrations from legacy hardware-based security to software-defined/Zero Trust models. · Programmable Infrastructure: Proficiency in Python for API-driven integrations and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible). ·Core Networking: Deep-dive understanding of BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and packet-level troubleshooting to ensure migration stability.

Leadership&Strategic Skills· Technical Project Ownership: The ability to drive a technical design through the entire lifecycle—from initial requirements to final production cutover. · Adaptability: Skilled at pivoting between the structured planning of Waterfall and the fast-paced, iterative nature of Agile.· Diplomacy&Influence: Ability to align cross-functional teams (Network, Cloud, Security) to meet project deadlines and architectural standards.
