Platform Engineer (Linux, Bash, WebSphere) For our client in Leeuwarden, we are looking for a Platform Engineer (Linux, Bash, WebSphere)

The platform is a marketplace created at an international level in the the client sinfrastructure to enable value-creating interaction between producers and consumers of products and services (internal and external to the ING organization). Inside the platform, the OnePAM area represents the data layer and ensures one single source of truth for all party, agreement and permission data shared across all country and customer segments.

At the core of the OnePAM layer is the platform, the IBM InfoSphere MDM system contains all European parties and is the source of PSD processes for person/party data. We are responsible for the maintainability and distribute the data keeping always in mind the interests of the end customer. You will be working in close co-operation with stakeholders (feature squads) and you will be actively participating in the extension of the platform’s capabilities by deploying and configuring new features, components and releases in a controlled way. You take initiative in coordinating dependencies with other teams and you feel responsible for the quality and availability of your services in scope.

Your role As a Platform engineer you will be part of a multidisciplinary and international agile team that is responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the systems it builds. You will be involved in the whole development lifecycle, from refining user stories until monitoring software in production.

As a Platform Engineer, we expect you to:

Administer the IBM MDM (vendor) application in WebSphere application server

Maintain Java vendor applications

Work in close co-operation with stakeholders and actively participate in deploying/configuring new features, components and releases in a controlled and automated way

Take initiative in coordinating dependencies with other teams and take ownership of the quality and availability of your software

Have a learning attitude that enables you to adjust to new technologies, up to date in the current tech trends and continuously look for ways to improve the Platform and Process in scope

Design and implement platform solutions with reusability, security and compliance in mind

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audience)

Team player and collaborator

Drives complex tasks/projects to completion, handle stressful situations

Coach less experienced team member

Be able to challenge the status quo and offer improvements that lead to higher quality/ease of use/maintainability

Strong problem solving and analytical thinking - ability to diagnose and resolve ambiguous problems

Job Requirements:

WebSphere Application Server ND 8.5.5 or 9.0 (3+years hands-on experience on configurations and incident handling)

WebSphere operational skills (incidents, deployments, configurations, troubleshooting, migrations, observability, life-cycle management, automation, IT risk)

Knowledge of Linux environments

Ansible&Bash scripting

Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery

Experienced in working in a complex environment, Agile methods and Software development frameworks

Strong delivery track record

You have a 24x7 mindset and are willing to participate in a stand-by shift, knowing that our client operates a 24x7 business for its customers

SRE(Site reliability engineering) mindset
