Enterprise Architect– Strategic Transformation&Governance, Amsterdam

For a highly respected client of ours, we are currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to play a key role in further professionalising enterprise architecture and governance within a complex and regulated environment.

In this role, you will operate at a strategic level, translating business objectives into future-proof architecture, capabilities, and operating models. You will be responsible for strengthening architecture maturity, governance, and enterprise-wide alignment across business, data, applications, and technology domains.

The Role: As an Enterprise Architect, you will primarily operate at enterprise and strategic level. You will define architecture principles, maintain cohesion across business and technology domains, and ensure architectural direction effectively supports organisational goals.

You will further develop architecture governance, guide strategic architectural decision-making, and support architects and stakeholders across multiple domains. In addition, you will remain selectively hands-on in critical initiatives and enterprise-wide strategic designs where significant impact or risk is involved.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, architects, and business stakeholders, helping the organisation further mature its architecture capabilities.

Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Architecture&Strategy: Translate business strategy and organisational objectives into enterprise architecture and business capabilities Define, maintain, and evolve architecture principles, target architectures, and reference architectures Ensure alignment between processes, organisation, data, applications, and technologySafeguard consistency between enterprise architecture and domain architectures

Architecture Governance: Design, support, and govern architecture decision-making processes Further develop governance structures aligned with organisational maturity Establish and maintain architecture principles, standards, and decision frameworks Manage enterprise architecture repositories and ensure quality and consistency

Design Oversight&Guidance: Provide direction to domain, data, enablement, and solution architects Act as escalation point for cross-domain architectural challenges Remain selectively hands-on in strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide designs Ensure architecture decisions are well balanced across business value, cost, risk, and sustainability

Leadership&Coaching: Trusted sparring partner for senior business stakeholders and architects Coach and mentor architects across the organisation Translate market standards and best practices into pragmatic architectural frameworks Promote enterprise-wide architecture thinking and collaboration

Requirements

Must-have: Academic level of working and thinking, preferably in IT, Engineering, Information Management, or related disciplines Several years of experience as an Enterprise Architect within complex and regulated environments Strong experience in enterprise architecture governance and strategic decision-makingExperience with architecture principles, target architectures, and enterprise-wide architectural models Ability to combine strategic vision with pragmatic execution Experience in Agile and DevOps environments Strong stakeholder management skills at senior leadership and architecture level Excellent communication and coaching capabilities

Nice-to-have: Experience with SAFe Experience within asset management, financial services, or other regulated sectors Experience with enterprise data and technology architecture in complex organisations
