EY-Parthenon - (Senior) Consultant People Strategy and M&A, Amsterdam

About the role As a (senior) consultant you will join the EY-Parthenon Strategy&Execution team, focusing on People Strategy. You will advise and support clients throughout the entire deal life cycle, delivering a range of People and HR-related services on both the sell‑side and buy‑side. The role involves contributing to deal pricing, post‑deal synergies, and assisting clients in realizing value from People and HR initiatives.

Complex HR due diligence, day‑one readiness, post‑merger integration, carve‑outs, and post‑deal value creation such as strategic workforce planning, organization design, employee relations planning and execution, and culture, communication&change initiatives.

Support clients in planning and implementing People and HR elements for organizational restructuring programs at strategic and operational levels.

Address People and HR matters through all stages of acquisition, divestiture, and merger, including pre‑ and post‑deal phases.

Write and review reports, project plans, data analyses, and develop presentation materials, including high‑quality, risk‑managed reports for clients and executive presentations.

Structure and manage international projects that meet and exceed client expectations, recognizing and managing potential issues during client assignments.

About the team The People Strategy and M&A team works with clients to manage their employee capital agenda, driving competitive advantage and increasing returns on investment. As part of a global team of professionals in 100 countries, you will advise on preserving, optimizing, raising, or investing capital.

Qualifications&Experience

Recent graduates with a Master’s degree from a Dutch university in Strategy, Business Administration, Finance, Organizational Studies, Econometrics, HRM, or a similar field.

Experience advising clients on a range of transactions and restructurings, ideally involving People topics.

Academic training complemented by internships, board experience, or other extracurricular activities.

Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in Dutch and English, spoken and written.

Demonstrated affinity with People and HR topics, strategy development, and mergers&acquisitions.

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel; a valid work permit, if required.
