Job Type: Permanent Application Deadline: 13 June 2026 The Fidelity Europe Foundation is one of four independent, grant‑making organisations supported by Fidelity International, focusing on Germany, the Republic of Ireland, France, Spain and Italy. The Foundation supports organisations working in the following fields:Enabling children and young people to thrive (education, employability, youth development) Health and wellbeing (services outside state provision, prevention, early intervention) Arts, culture and heritage (visual arts organisations) Environmental conservation (land and freshwater conservation, access to nature)Purpose of the role

The Grants Manager will develop and manage a strategic portfolio of grants across the Foundation’s priority countries, working closely with and reporting to the Head of Europe Programmes. The role involves pro‑actively building a grant pipeline, conducting due diligence on non‑profit organisations, writing proposals for Trustee consideration, monitoring progress, and maintaining relationships with grantees and peer funders.Key Responsibilities

Oversee development of grant pipeline and ensure proposals align with strategic priorities. Assess concept papers and recommend proposals for full applications. Undertake rigorous due diligence, including site visits, applying the Foundation’s framework to evaluate leadership, governance, impact, financial health and strategic plans.Write clear and concise proposals with sound analysis for Trustees. Peer‑review grant proposals across the portfolio. Maintain constructive relationships with grantees throughout the grant life‑cycle. Implement Trustee decisions in collaboration with the Grants Administration team. Collaborate with monitoring, impact and learning colleagues to review grantee reports, conduct meetings and site visits, and analyze the impact of grants.Pro‑actively connect grantees to facilitate shared learning. Support learning across the Foundations’ team and contribute to strategic development of grant‑making. Ensure compliance with Foundation policies and manage risk. Maintain up‑to‑date grant‑making database. Offer flexible support to the team and represent the Foundations consistently with their values.Experience and Qualifications Required

Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in fields directly relevant to the role. In‑depth knowledge of the non‑profit sector in Europe and associated policy/regulatory environments. Understanding of legal, finance and governance issues and organisational structures in Europe. Knowledge of at least one Programme area (Disadvantaged Children&Young People, or Health&Wellbeing). Significant experience of grant‑making and/or due diligence on non‑profit organisations. Demonstrable track record of working within or supporting the non‑profit sector. Knowledge of capacity building needs and effective application of technology and innovation in non‑profits.Proven experience analysing funding models, business plans and organisational sustainability. Experience providing capacity building or organisational development support to non‑profits (desirable). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a record of producing concise and insightful information for diverse audiences.Strong research and analytical skills to assess complex information and organisational capacity. Practical knowledge of Salesforce or similar grant‑making databases. High standard of written and spoken English; fluency in another language associated with priority countries is an advantage.
