Discover the Role As a Junior Accounting Officer, you will support a portfolio of local and international clients in the Netherlands with their financial, accounting, and compliance needs. Working closely with more experienced Accounting Officers and under the supervision of a Supervisor Accounting, you will play an active role in ensuring that client entities remain compliant while delivering high-quality day‑to‑day accounting support.
This role offers a strong learning environment where you will gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and international structures. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Legal Officers, as well as external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and advisors. A strong command of Dutch is essential, as you will be working closely with local clients and regulatory bodies.
You will be part of a collaborative team focused on building long‑term client relationships, delivering tailored solutions, and supporting clients in navigating complex regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with local and international clients, advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies
Provide day‑to‑day financial, accounting, and administrative support to client entities
Assist in maintaining accounting records, including journal entries and financial data
Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and client‑specific reports
Assist in cash management activities, including bank administration and payment processing
Prepare and support reporting to regulatory authorities such as the Chamber of Commerce and Tax Authorities
Work closely with senior team members and support ongoing projects
Maintain accurate client files and ensure proper documentation is in place
Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to support reporting and compliance processes
Identify discrepancies or issues and escalate where appropriate
Support the preparation of tax‑related documentation (e.g. corporate income tax, VAT where applicable)
Assist in monitoring outstanding receivables and support billing processes
Participate in client meetings where required and provide support in stakeholder communication
Ensure all work is delivered in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
Key Requirements
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of relevant experience or a strong internship background in accounting or finance
Good understanding of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS)
Interest in financial processes, reporting, and compliance environments
Experience or exposure to financial systems (e.g. SAP, CaseWare, Dynamics) is a plus
Fluent Dutch and strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
High attention to detail and a structured approach to work
Strong willingness to learn and develop within an accounting environment
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment
