Financial Controller Financial Controller, Nefab Packaging Netherlands

Role Purpose The Financial Controller is responsible for managing and executing all accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This hands‑on role ensures accurate and timely bookkeeping, compliance with relevant regulations, and strong financial controls. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, detail‑oriented, and comfortable performing both operational (80%) and strategic (20%) finance tasks.

Key Responsibilities Accounting&Financial Administration

Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and accruals.

Oversee payroll accounting, fixed assets, and VAT/tax declarations.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data and documentation.

Financial Reporting&Analysis

Prepare and continuously improve the monthly reporting process for the Jase and Heuman companies according to Nefab policy and guidelines (IFRS based).

Produce timely management reports, including variance analyses, sales forecasts, and set up and prepare KPI reporting.

Monitor company performance and highlight risks or opportunities to management.

Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Internal Controls&Compliance

Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.

Ensure compliance with legal, fiscal, and internal reporting requirements.

Coordinate audits and act as main point of contact for external auditors and tax authorities.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and systems.

Implement pragmatic solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy.

Business Support

Act as a financial sparring partner for management and operational teams.

Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Support ad‑hoc analyses and projects as required.

Required Qualifications&Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Several years of experience as a financial controller.

Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Proteus) and advanced Excel/Office 365 skills.

Fluency in English (and additional languages is a plus).
