Senior WMS EDI Integration Consultant, Breda

Logistics EDI Integration Consultant NewCold is seeking a highly experienced Logistics EDI Integration Consultant to join our dynamic IT team in Breda. This position is pivotal in driving the success of complex EDI integrations for our logistics and warehouse operations. You will act as the strategic bridge between our logistics customers, warehouse site users, and technical teams, translating business needs—sometimes still evolving—into robust, efficient integration solutions.

As a specialist, you will proactively engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and guide them through the intricacies of EDI and logistics integration. Your expertise will be critical in increasing the efficiency of our implementation projects, reducing lead times, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will work with middleware platforms leveraging a Common Data Model (CDM) to interface with our custom-built Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring seamless digital integration between external systems (such as ERP platforms like SAP) and our internal logistics infrastructure.

What will you do?

Lead the gathering and analysis of EDI integration requirements, working collaboratively with stakeholders to clarify and shape objectives as they develop.

Define and document complex data mappings between customer ERP systems and our middleware BizTalk, ensuring alignment with real-world logistics and transportation processes.

Design, oversee, and optimize EDI message flows to guarantee accurate and timely data exchange with our WMS.

Coordinate and drive integration testing with customers and internal teams, ensuring rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Troubleshoot integration issues, providing senior-level root cause analysis and strategic solutions.

Champion ongoing optimization and documentation of EDI processes, setting standards for best practice within the team.

Collaborate closely with logistics operations to ensure all integrations support and enhance transportation and warehouse workflows.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of internal EDI expertise.

Required Skills&Experience

Extensive experience in EDI standards, processes, and integration concepts, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in logistics or supply chain environments.

Deep understanding of logistical transportation and warehouse processes, with the ability to translate operational needs into technical solutions.

Demonstrated ability to work with middleware platforms (preferably BizTalk) and ERP systems such as SAP.

Advanced technical proficiency in data structures (e.g., XML, flat files, JSON, EDIFACT).

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clarify and shape requirements in dynamic environments.

Strong independent working capability, combined with a collaborative approach within a small, high-performing IT team.

Fluent in English, any other European language is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of the Common Data Model (CDM).

Experience with custom-built WMS platforms.

Proficiency in German or Dutch is a plus.

Familiarity with integration tools or standards beyond BizTalk (e.g., API-based integrations, AS2, EDIFACT).
