Ensures that promising technologies are effectively implemented within the operational organisation, securing the required level of process stability and capability while enabling the production of the correct volumes at minimum cost. Actively contributes to the engineering and implementation of new technologies. Prepares experimental setups or protocols, analyses and reports results, and defines follow‑up and safeguarding actions, resulting in well‑established production processes.Prepares project plans and specifications. Reports results and project progress, and escalates or intervenes when insufficient progress is identified.
Technological direction&roadmapping Identifies technological trends and assesses their relevance to the company. Maintains an up‑to‑date technical network and knowledge base through literature studies, trade fair visits, seminars, and related activities. Safeguards the technical quality and appropriate application of developed technologies.Ensures a smooth transfer of technologies to operational teams. Collaborates with external partners such as universities, research institutes, and suppliers.
Characteristics Communication Communicates with the Manager Technology Innovation and the Lead Engineer regarding progress and bottlenecks. Communicates with the project sponsor regarding progress issues, financial handling, and the provision of advice. Consults with other departments (e.g., HSE) on questions related to process or product.Aligns with project team members regarding project progress. Communicates with suppliers and customers regarding project progress.
Composition / Authorities Works within the defined project boundaries: time, cost, and quality. Participates in projects and resolves issues related to planning, technical challenges, and budget. Bottlenecks with significant impact are escalated to the Manager Technology Innovation.
Responsibilities Participating in projects. Applying, expanding, and maintaining expertise in the relevant specialisation. Creating and executing experimental setups, analysing and reporting results, and defining follow‑up or safeguarding actions. Contributing to a safe, social, and professional working environment in line with company policy.
Technical Skills Required for effective use of PC/laptop.
Knowledge Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in a technical discipline, e.g., Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or (Applied) Physics. At least 3 years of experience in technology development within an industrial environment. Strong analytical and hands‑on engineering skills. Knowledge of innovation processes and implementation within production environments.Experience with project management and stakeholder management at multiple levels. Expertise in at least one of the specialist processes (Lithography, Electroforming, Metrology). Proficiency in MS Office and statistical data analysis (e.g., Minitab).
