Mechanical Engineer

to own the mechanical design and build of the electrolyzer stack. What You'll Do

This is a founding role: You'll own the mechanical design and build of the electrolyzer, collaborating with chemical and process engineers. From the first 100 kW system onward, you'll help shape its evolution as the team grows. Own the mechanical design and physical build of the electrolyzer, from first hardware through iteration and scale-up.Build and maintain full 3D CAD assemblies. Obsess over sealing, leakage, tolerances, wobble, fatigue, and assembly. Design and build test rigs and fixtures that measure performance reliably. Select and validate materials for durability and compatibility. Be open to continuous learning in a dynamic environment.Iterate fast: build→ test → break → improve. Help define BOMs and work with suppliers to get parts made. Spend real time in the workshop and lab. You’ll often work on problems where nobody knows the right answer yet. What We're Looking For

Substantial experience building electrolyzers and rotating hardware (roughly 5+ years in industry or equivalent). Training in mechanical engineering, aerospace, applied physics, or similar (Master’s or equivalent ability). Solid materials + electrochemistry intuition. You don’t need to be an electrochemist, but you should understand things like alkaline compatibility, corrosion, and degradation.Comfortable with basic electrical work (sensors, wiring, motor interfaces). We don’t plan to hire a dedicated electrical engineer initially, so you should be able to handle straightforward electrical tasks. Fluid/CFD intuition is a plus (heavy simulation not required).
