Develop and optimize mechanical components through 3D modeling, 2D drawings, product lifecycle management (PLM) documentation, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
Work closely with vendors and supply chain management (SCM) to select the right suppliers, optimize designs for manufacturability, and balance quality, cost, and fabrication efficiency.
Estimate costs of mechanical parts and support make‑versus‑buy decisions to ensure cost‑effective product development.
Coordinate technically cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software components.
Define and lead implementation, testing, and validation of hardware and software solutions, focusing on mechanical performance such as vibration, thermal capability, cable pulling, manufacturability, and intellectual property.
Drive products from concept to implementation, supporting technical improvements, design for manufacturing activities, global R&D collaboration, and synergies across projects and teams.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a solid background in complex mechanical design and development.
5+ years of experience in a medium‑high range company focused on product design, production, and hardware architectures.
Knowledgeable in thermodynamics and fluid‑dynamics, applied to cooling solutions.
Experienced user of SolidWorks; familiarity with Pro‑E and ANSYS Fluent is a plus.
Knowledge of EV charging industry protocols and standards, with basic knowledge of IEC 61851 required.
Knowledge of relevant mechanical standards/requirements such as IEC 60721, ISO 12944, ASCE 7, ISTA.
Strong focus on results, teamwork, and customer orientation, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
