Dawn Aerospace is looking for an exceptional Assembly, Integration&Test (AIT) Specialist with a practical, can-do attitude to join our in-space propulsion team in Delft, The Netherlands.
In this role, you will be responsible for the incoming inspection and cleaning process for Dawn's satellite propulsion systems ranging from CubeSat up to 1-tonne class. You will also take part in all AIT activities in the team, ranging from heater installation to pressure testing. Utilizing Dawn's high-performance green propellant architecture, all systems are assembled, integrated, and tested in-house. Travel to customer facilities for integration and support should be expected.
Responsibilities
Inspect incoming items with support on the day-to-day task from technicians.
Cleaning of incoming items with support on the day-to-day tasks from technicians.
Ownership of the Inspection and cleaning area (situated in its own cleanroom). Continuous improvement of the area, new tools, new setups, etc.
Feedback to the Purchasing team regarding the quality of suppliers. Potential field visit to supplier.
Responsible for raising and discussing any non-conformances discovered during the inspection process. Hold discussion with System Engineers and Product Owners.
Generate and update incoming inspection work instructions and SOPs.
Responsible for the alignment of the above procedures with Dawn Aerospace New Zealand facility (supplier for some of the sub-assembly).
Design, development, and verification of new cleaning setups.
Strong attention to detail, following quality processes and process-oriented mindset.
Take part in Assembly, Integration and Testing activities at component, sub-system and system level.
Join potential customers campaign and visit to the New Zealand Dawn Aerospace facility.
Required Qualifications
3+ years' experience in hands-on mechanical and/or electrical AIT activities on complex systems, like semiconductor equipment, satellites, astronomy equipment, flight simulators, aircraft maintenance, or similar.
Experience in using general workshop tools related to cleaning and inspection, such as a microscope, calipers, multimeter, ultrasonic cleaners, ovens, sealants, etc.
Experience working in clean rooms or other controlled environments.
Familiarity with space segment activities, requirements and quality process (ECSS).
Able to understand technical drawings (ICD), CAD or schematics of complex components and relative requirements.
Precise technical communication and documentation abilities (Work Instruction, Non-Conformity, etc.).
Proven oral and written communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and engineering professionals.
Capable of working effectively in collaborative team environments and by yourself.
The ability to adapt to change quickly and positively.
Desired Experience
Experience with pressurized systems.
Experience with electric propulsion systems.
Working with a quality management system that meets ISO9001.
Note that the role is a permanent position that will start with a fixed-term contract of 12 months.
