As Manager Cleaning Operations, you are responsible for all hull-cleaning activities on seagoing vessels. In this role, you lead three work vessels from which the robotic cleaning unit is attached to the vessel being cleaned. In addition, you manage the Remote Control Room (RCC), where the robot is operated remotely from our office in Delft. In total, you are responsible for managing approximately thirty employees.

You work closely with various departments such as Planning and HR. In addition, you implement, evaluate, and continuously improve processes and systems related to cleaning operations, service quality, operational safety, and the training of operational staff. You also ensure that these procedures and systems are correctly followed and make adjustments where necessary. Finally, you play a central role in monitoring and safeguarding the continuous operation of our services, responding quickly and effectively to any challenges to ensure smooth operations at all times.

Your responsibilities

Leading all operational cleaning activities within Fleet Robotics, ensuring alignment with the company’s business plan and objectives.

Managing our work vessels and RCC (approximately 30 FTE), in close collaboration with managers and other departments such as Planning and HR, while fostering a safe, efficient, and productive working environment.

Developing, implementing, and improving operational procedures, business processes, and systems, including those related to quality control, safety, and training.

Ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the cleaning activities and proactively addressing and resolving any potential disruptions.

Coordinating collaboration between vessels, the service department, and office-based staff (such as Planning) to ensure seamless operations.

In cooperation with HR, being responsible for crewing and the nautical management of the cleaning installations.

Job Requirements

A completed HBO or WO degree in a technical or business-related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or similar).

At least five years of experience in operational management within a technical environment, preferably in the maritime industry.

Experience in developing, implementing, and improving procedures, processes, and systems within an operational environment.

Strong knowledge of operational processes, procedures, and systems, as well as quality control and safety measures in an operational setting.

The ability to manage and motivate employees to achieve results while maintaining a clear overview.
