Montash is currently seeking a Senior Linux (Systems) Engineer with strong automation expertise to drive image-based upgrades and large-scale infrastructure automation across complex on-prem environments.

This is a high-impact contract role suited to someone who thrives in production environments, automation-first thinking, and large-scale operations.

Key Responsibilities

Drive image-based upgrades and golden image strategy

Build and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections

Manage and automate RHEL environments at scale

Support patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management

Work across VMware / on-prem infrastructure

Contribute to containerisation efforts (Docker / Kubernetes)

Troubleshoot production issues across automation and Linux environments

Must-Have Skills

Strong experience with Ansible (Tower / Controller / AAP)

Proven background in image-based upgrades / golden images

Deep expertise in RHEL / Linux administration

Experience with Packer or similar image creation tools

Solid knowledge of VMware and on-prem infrastructure

Exposure to containers (Docker / Kubernetes)

Strong operations / production support experience

Experience working in complex enterprise environments
