Cassini Technologies is a MedTech company headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, with more than a decade of experience advancing ophthalmic solutions. We design with connection and flexibility in mind— creating technologies that support surgical teams from preoperative diagnostics through intraoperative visualization, in clinics and operating rooms worldwide. Our guiding principles: confidence in every step, simplicity that empowers, and value that endures.
The Role We're looking for a Product Owner to sit at the heart of our R&D execution translating product strategy and clinical user needs into a clear, well-prioritised backlog that our development team can deliver against. This is an internally facing, high-accountability role with real impact: you'll be the day-to-day bridge between product direction and engineering, ensuring what gets built is the right thing, built right, and delivered on time. You won't be directing technical decisions - you'll be making sure the team always has the clarity and context they need to make good ones.
What You'll Do Requirements&Backlog Translate strategic direction and user needs into clearly specified user stories and acceptance criteria Own and maintain the R&D backlog prioritising, preparing, and keeping it sprint-ready at all times Ensure requirements are traceable to user needs, risk outputs, and regulatory requirements Manage the deliverable list and gate review documentation inputs R&D Delivery Act as the primary product interface for R&D; attend sprint ceremonies and provide timely input and acceptance decisions Verify delivered features meet agreed criteria; raise and track deviations Monitor development timelines and flag risks proactively Coordinate change control activities and support impact assessments Software Documentation&Technical File Define and maintain software-related product requirements documentation in line with applicable regulatory standards Ensure software documentation, user requirements, release notes, known-issues logs, version histories, and feature specifications, is accurate, complete, and audit-readyContribute to technical file inputs and regulatory submission documentation in coordination with QA and RA Support software validation activities and design transfer Internal Communication&Process Provide structured, regular updates on backlog status, sprint progress, and upcoming releases Ensure product feedback from customer-facing teams is captured, triaged, and reflected in the backlog and PMS reporting Coordinate with QA on design verification and design transfer; maintain the R&D roadmap calendar
What We're Looking For Bachelor's or Master's in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Minimum 3 years of product ownership or business analyst experience in a software-intensive product environment Solid experience in agile environments; proficiency with Jira or similarDemonstrated ability to write and own product requirements documentation and contribute to technical file content in a regulated environment Familiarity with SaMD regulatory frameworks (MDR Annex I, IEC 62304) is a plus Experience with or exposure to cloud-based software deployment (SaaS, hosted models, data residency considerations) is a plusExperience in (active) medical devices is a plus
The Person You communicate precisely - your requirements and acceptance criteria leave no room for ambiguity. You're structured enough to manage a complex backlog across multiple workstreams, but pragmatic enough to know when to escalate rather than wait. You build trust with engineering, QA, and RA teams quickly, and you're comfortable holding the line on what needs to be built without telling developers how to build it.
What We Offer Hybrid working arrangement 25 days holiday per year NS travel card Pension contribution A flat, no-nonsense organisation where your work has direct impact and your voice is heard Fresh snacks in the office— because good work deserves good fuel
Cassini Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
