Your Role The Financial Institutions Department is seeking an Associate for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) team of 14 professionals. The team manages a portfolio of approximately 40 clients with a committed portfolio of around EUR 2 bln. You report to the Regional Manager and will be based at headquarters in The Hague, The Netherlands.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Monitoring– Report writing&analysis for country updates, change requests, disbursement memos, and market outlooks; monitor client performance; assess financial and operational KPIs; recommend covenant amendments; assist with client inquiries.
Market Research– Track macroeconomic trends and regional developments.
Transaction Execution– Participate in the full transaction lifecycle, prepare internal documentation such as financial proposals, conduct due diligence, and work closely with Legal on transaction agreements.
Collaboration&Administration– Partner with multidisciplinary deal teams, contribute to departmental initiatives, ensure data integrity across FMO systems, and assist with regulatory and internal reporting.
Our Offer
Gross yearly salary between EUR 60 – 70 K (including holiday allowance and 13th month), depending on seniority, years of experience, and background.
Premium‑free pension scheme.
31 holidays per year.
Option to work remotely abroad for up to 60 days within a rolling 12‑month period.
Hybrid working model (50% remote, 50% in‑office).
Your Background
Master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, or engineering.
3‑5 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum in financial or portfolio analysis.
Exposure to international work environments and/or emerging markets.
Knowledge of the financial institutions sector is essential; familiarity with LAC markets is a strong plus.
Strong analytical skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
Deep understanding of financial markets and macroeconomic developments.
Demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities.
Your Skills
Proactive and adaptable under pressure, managing multiple priorities.
Effective communication and relationship building in multidisciplinary teams.
Well‑organized and detail‑oriented, escalates issues when needed.
Independent and confident presenter, culturally sensitive.
Excellent written and spoken English and strong written and spoken Spanish.
Ability to travel to countries in the Latin American region.
