Modern Workspace Engineer (Hybrid) Overview

At TNO, experts work on sustainable and digital solutions; the Modern Workspace Engineer supports the ICT Infrastructure department, maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure for 7,000 Microsoft workstations. Responsibilities

Configure and update systems, networks, servers, and software ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Contribute to the design of new digital workplace concepts. Advise on improvements and propose new IT products and solutions. Maintain vendor contacts for optimal products and support.Keep updated on emerging technologies, share knowledge, and propose initiatives to improve service levels. Document ICT system operations and services. Troubleshoot incidents and support colleagues with technical questions. Identify and prevent issues through proactive management and problem analysis.Advise on the urgency, impact, and priority of changes. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in an ICT-related field. Willingness to work with new technologies in a complex environment; motivation to learn on‑premises and cloud‑based applications. Demonstrable experience in a similar role. Hands‑on experience with endpoint management solutions, especially Microsoft MECM/Intune, RDP/VDI, and SQL Server.Experience managing virtualised IT infrastructures and knowledge of ITIL4 guidelines. Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, quality awareness, and a collaborative mindset. Ability to develop complex solutions and combine conceptual and strategic thinking. Flexibility to work outside office hours when necessary.Effective communication with vendors and external organisations at an operational level. Strong written and verbal communication in Dutch and English; ability to explain complex IT solutions clearly. Benefits

Gross monthly salary 4500–5700€ (full‑time 40‑hour week) plus 13th month payment of 8.33% and flexible benefits budget of 5.58%. 8% holiday allowance.
