The Deventer Youth Musical Foundation originated from the“Deventer Opera and Operetta Association” (DOOV) founded in 1957. The youth department has existed since 1967. Since 2002 we have adopted the name “Deventer Youth Musical”, because we play youth musical and this name more suits the young character of the association.

Our cast consists of very talented and enthusiastic children and young people aged from 8 to 18 years.

In addition to the artistic direction (director, dance and singing teacher, crew, board, production management, set crew, costume crew, technique and hairdressing and makeup crew, all on a voluntary basis), the artistic direction takes care of the creative part of the performance. On average, 50 volunteers are involved in a production in various disciplines.

Unfortunately, after many years of great work, our current production manager is leaving us and we are looking for a new production manager (M/F).

Responsibilities

You ensure that everything runs smoothly by coordinating between artistic direction, the board, the secretariat, the children, the parents, the theatre and other locations, the PR team and the other teams.

At the start of the season, together with the artistic team, you draw up a script and an annual plan in which the activities and“who does what” for the rest of the year are recorded.

During rehearsal afternoons (Thursday from 4:45 to 6:15 pm), you are present, keep track of cancellations in advance, and pass them on to the artistic direction.

You also keep in touch with the children and parents and are the point of contact for questions.

You help organize the annual musical camp (weekend), the walk‑through (twice a year on weekends), the CD recording and the promotion activities (which you initiate yourself).

You are also regularly present at the board meeting.

Depending on the distribution in the annual schedule, this role will require approximately 10‑20 hours per week. In return you will receive an unforgettable experience, a great performance, and valuable contacts with the other volunteers and parents.
