Senior Statistical Physicist | High-Tech R&D
We are looking for a Senior Statistical Physicist to lead and contribute to advanced research and development initiatives within a high-tech environment. In this role, you will apply statistical physics to solve complex challenges in fluid dynamics, using both theoretical and computational approaches to analyse, model and predict system behaviour.Your work will play a key role in advancing next-generation technologies by translating simulation insights into practical design improvements. A strong focus area is particle contamination control, where your simulations will directly support design decisions and help reduce defectivity in high-performance systems.
Key responsibilities Translate complex statistical physics problems into effective simulation models Develop and expand particle tracking simulations for both continuum flow and rarefied gas regimes Collaborate closely with academic partners on advanced modelling techniques, including DSMC solversWork together with engineering teams to validate models and iteratively solve technical challenges Proactively propose engineering solutions based on simulation results Translate system requirements into design recommendations supported by modelling insights Document and report study results, design decisions and technical findings
Profile PhD in Physics
or a related discipline Minimum of 10 years of experience in simulation work within a high-tech industry Strong expertise in statistical physics, with experience
in Molecular Dynamics, Lattice Boltzmann and Monte Carlo methods Proficiency in
CFD tools, particularly Ansys CFX Ability to explain complex physical concepts clearly across different levels, from engineers to senior stakeholders Experience supporting multiple teams with data-driven and simulation-based insights Affinity with flow simulations in rarefied conditions is a plus
Personal attributes Strong drive for innovation and continuous improvement Self-driven specialist with a proactive and inquisitive mindset Effective in time management and prioritization Analytical, pragmatic, creative and solution-oriented Strong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyFluent in English. Motivated to develop broadly within the high-tech domain
