Join the System Incubator team as (senior) automotive system engineer to define and develop innovative demos, proof‑of‑concepts, and system solutions using NXP’s automotive chips and software solutions. Responsibilities
Help define and develop innovative demos, proof‑of‑concepts and system solutions using NXP automotive chips and software solutions. Contribute to the development and integration of software in projects to enable application proof‑of‑concepts and system studies. Work on ADAS, in‑vehicle networks, connectivity modules, IVI, and E/E vehicle architectures.Explore automotive standards, analysis and simulation tools, innovative solutions, and solve problems of future vehicles. Interact with NXP teams and possibly external partners. Qualifications
University degree (BSc, MSc, PDEng or PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technologies, or a relevant technical field. Experience in software engineering on embedded platforms. Expertise in modern C++, embedded C, Python, CI/CD infrastructure, Linux, and test automation.Experience with code review and team‑based software development. Experience with automotive communication standards. Practical experience with Time Sensitive Networking Ethernet and YANG standards. Experience working with ARM‑based embedded automotive processors and automotive network devices.Experience with hardware evaluation boards, building board support packages, kernels, and images. Experience correlating analysis and simulation results with hardware evaluation board results. Critical mindset for debugging issues and following through with solutions in complex multi‑hardware system setups.Analytical mindset for digesting experiment data and creating visualizations for discussions with team members and stakeholders. Software architecture capabilities to plan integration of new features into existing code bases. Curiosity about how different building blocks play a role in a larger system.Hands‑on experience with vehicle‑level simulation tools (OMNEST, ChronSIM, Pegase). Willingness to learn new technical skills and dive into new systems, standards, and programming languages. Proficiency in English (verbal and written) and experience in multicultural teams. Good teamwork and communication skills.Additional Experience (Optional)
Knowledge of electronic design for intermediate layer HW‑SW issues. Experience in timing simulation tools. Experience in automotive analysis and simulator tools and open‑source self‑driving software. Familiarity with the semiconductor/automotive field. Experience with NXP S32 Automotive devices and configuration tools (e.g., "S32 Design Studio").Experience with automotive use cases.
