Responsibilities

Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations.

Lead the kitchen team in the Executive Chef's absence to ensure seamless service.

Train, coach and motivate junior chefs to maintain consistent standards.

Contribute to menu planning, seasonal dishes and continuous improvement.

Oversee food quality, presentation and efficient preparation.

Ensure compliance with hygiene, allergen and food safety procedures.

Manage ordering, stock levels, cost control and waste reduction.

Collaborate closely with Front of House teams to support guest satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or high‑volume restaurant.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.

Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene and operational standards.

Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining quality.

Eligible to work in the Netherlands and fluent in English.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with banqueting, large‑scale production or events catering.

Creative approach to menu and dish development.

Strong understanding of cost control and stock management.

Dutch fluency is an advantage.

This position is paid in line with the Horeca CAO, according to the designated salary grade for the Sous Chef role.
