For the internal IT and technology team of a highly innovative organisation, we are seeking an enthusiastic ICT Specialist who enjoys combining strong technical expertise with a people-focused approach to IT support and application management.
This position will suit someone who enjoys working across software applications, databases and internal systems, whilst acting as a trusted technical point of contact for users and stakeholders throughout the wider business.
The ICT Specialist will play a key role in supporting, maintaining and improving the organisation’s application landscape, helping ensure systems remain stable, secure and operational whilst contributing towards ongoing modernisation and improvement initiatives.
The ICT Specialist will work closely with both technical teams and end users, acting as the bridge between business operations and IT. You will help support and optimise business-critical applications, troubleshoot technical issues, improve integrations between systems and contribute towards the long-term reliability of the wider IT environment.
This is far more than a traditional support role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of systems and processes, contribute ideas towards technical improvements and help shape how applications and services evolve moving forward.
The role will involve a mixture of operational support responsibilities and project-based work, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working across multiple technologies and stakeholders.
You will support the day-to-day management of applications, databases and integrations, whilst helping investigate and resolve more complex technical issues across L2 and L3 environments.
The ICT Specialist will be responsible for:
Supporting, maintaining and optimising internal business applications and software platforms Managing and monitoring integrations and technical connections between systems and applications Troubleshooting application, database and user-related technical issues across L2 and L3 support environmentsInvestigating root causes of incidents and implementing both short-term fixes and long-term improvements Working closely with users, suppliers and internal IT teams to ensure effective communication and issue resolution Assisting with application lifecycle management including updates, patching, automation and system improvementsSupporting both BAU activities and wider IT transformation or application improvement projects Contributing towards scripting, automation and operational efficiency initiatives within the wider IT environment
The successful ICT Specialist will possess a strong technical foundation combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
You will enjoy working with people just as much as technology, and be comfortable supporting users whilst also working hands-on with applications, systems and databases.
To summarise, the ICT Specialist will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
Experience working within application support, ICT operations, or systems administration within enterprise Windows / Microsoft environments Strong troubleshooting capabilities across software, applications and user-facing systems Familiarity with networking, monitoring and logging technologies Knowledge of ITIL processes and structured service delivery environmentsExperience with SQL databases and database management concepts Scripting or automation experience using technologies such as PowerShell would be highly beneficial Comfortable supporting L2 and L3 technical issues across application and infrastructure environments Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical usersA proactive, organised and solution-oriented mindset HBO working and thinking level or equivalent practical experience Strong Dutch language skills, with English considered advantageous
