Job Description Join us to lead our stores&grow our impact.
About Wakuli: We love great coffee. That’s why we’re building an alternative coffee industry that actually works for both farmers and consumers. By working directly with farmer groups around the world, we set up transparent, traceable export lines, roast the beans ourselves, and sell the coffee straight to customers. These short supply chains help farmers receive a fair price. We’re present in 20 bars across the Netherlands and online via our own platform, offering freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to access, relatively affordable, and just seriously delicious.
What You’ll Do You’ll manage the daily operation across two locations, lead teams with clarity, take initiative, and be accountable for results. Your role is hands‑on: at least 80% of your time will be spent on the shop floor, coaching, guiding, and challenging your team to improve each week.
Leadership and team development
Guide Team Leads with coaching, clarity, and structure.
Attract new talent and lead hiring, onboarding, and development of baristas and leads.
Create a team culture people want to be part of: fair, ambitious, and energised.
Lead performance conversations and raise the standard across all stores.
Inspire drive and innovation in your team daily.
Customer Experience And Culture
Ensure every customer gets the full Wakuli experience: great coffee, a welcoming vibe, and a cohesive team.
Bring consistency in service and energy across the stores.
Stay close to floor activities and provide support when needed.
Operations and results
Own store performance: revenue, waste, team, compliance, and standards.
Support scheduling to keep stores open 365 days a year.
Monitor stock, safety, reporting, and processes; take action where needed.
Surface risks and opportunities early and keep things moving forward.
Share best practices with the growing Store Management Team to support expansion.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience leading teams in hospitality, retail, or operations.
A track record of coaching, holding accountable, and growing performance.
Strong operational instincts and the ability to spot problems before they arise.
Sharp sense of ownership, structure, and service quality.
Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
Availability to work 32–38 hours per week, including at least one weekend day.
