As a Lead Engineer, you’ll own the technical vision and execution for a greenfield AI document processing and case management project, serving as the primary engineering partner for the client while guiding a talented team to deliver a robust, scalable solution. Responsibilities

Own

and drive the end-to-end technical architecture of the system, making key decisions in collaboration with the engineering team Serve

as the primary technical partner for the client, leading technical discussions, managing expectations, and ensuring the solution aligns with their goals Translate

complex business requirements into a concrete technical roadmap, system design, and actionable goals for the team Guide

engineers through pragmatic technical decision‑making, mentorship, and clear communication of complex topics Contribute

hands‑on to the most critical and architecturally significant parts of the system, balancing high‑level solutioning with direct coding Ensure

the technical quality, feasibility, scalability, and integrity of engineering deliverables from concept through delivery Collaborate

with Engineering Managers and client stakeholders to align on timelines, scope, trade‑offs, and technical feasibility Manage

technical debt strategically, balancing delivery speed with long‑term maintainability and quality Other duties as assigned Qualifications&Skills

8+

years of software engineering experience, with a clear progression into technical leadership Proven experience architecting and leading the development of complex, data‑centric software systems from the ground up Exceptional client‑facing skills, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholdersDeep technical expertise and the ability to earn the confidence of skilled engineering teams through sound judgment and technical gravitas Strong pragmatic decision‑making skills, with a track record of balancing technical excellence, project constraints, and business objectives Ability to quickly learn new technologies, domains, and tools to solve complex problems effectivelyExperience providing technical feasibility analysis to inform project scope, planning, and delivery timelines Experience working with documents, data pipelines, enterprise back‑office tooling, AI/ML systems, or complex data pipeline domains is a plus Hands‑on expertise with Python and its ecosystem in a data‑intensive environment is a plusConsulting experience or experience in a heavily client‑facing technical role is a plus Experience participating in technical interviewing or hiring processes is a plus Monks Technology Services does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, age, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation.
