This Is What Your Role Looks Like The Financial Controller is part of the Financial Control team (14 FTE), a talented international team with quick‑thinking financial professionals who generate high‑quality reports while working closely with the business.

As a Financial Controller, you’ll focus on constantly improving the process and quality of the actual monthly figures. You’ll take ownership of the correct and complete processing and reporting of part of our business, initiating improvements to make our financial processes more efficient, effective, and scalable for futuregrowth. You are responsible for maintaining, processing, and reporting all general‑ledger transactions that take place within your processes for all operating countries. Together with the Financial Accountants, you’ll ensure that all business transactions are properly and timely recorded, that the general ledgers are complete and accurate, and that all transactions are valid. Your tasks include month‑end reporting, preparation of statutory reporting, and supporting external audits.

Your Responsibilities

Prepare and ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries, accruals and other asset‑accounting monthly tasks.

Create and review reconciliations and specifications for all balances included in the balance sheet and relevant P&L accounts.

Develop and implement process improvements, document desktop procedures and processes to achieve efficiencies.

Proactively pursue business issues that impact the general ledger and propose possible solutions.

Support external audit requirements and other external reporting requirements.

Contribute to the Internal Control Framework (focus on controls and policies).

Support management in completing special projects, ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.

Collaborate with other departments throughout Basic‑Fit and multiple internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

A Bachelor/Master degree in Finance (HBO/WO).

Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar environment; audit background is a plus.

Proficiency with handling and analyzing big data sets using tools such as MS Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Good communication skills in French is a big plus.

Experience with IFRS and SAP (S4/HANA Public Cloud) is preferred.

Ability to interact with all departments and management levels throughout our organization.
