Naval Architect, Leeuwarden

We’re working with a leading Northern European yacht builder specialising in

explorer yacht new builds, conversions, and refits . Due to continued project demand, they’re now looking to bring in an experienced

Naval Architect

to support their engineering team across multiple high-value yacht projects.

This is a technically driven role with strong involvement across

design, compliance, and project delivery , offering the chance to work on some of the most innovative builds in the market.

The Role You’ll play a key role in the

development and execution of yacht projects , ensuring designs meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements from concept through to delivery.

Working closely with project teams, suppliers, and classification bodies, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards across all naval architecture elements.

Key Responsibilities

Support

project development

for new build, conversion, and refit yachts

Develop and manage

yacht designs and technical specifications

Ensure compliance with

class rules, regulations, and legislation

Monitor

quality, weight, stability, and performance requirements

Provide technical input on

quotations and project feasibility

Stay up to date with

industry developments, materials, and innovation

Work closely with

suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

Participate in

dock trials, sea trials, and technical evaluations

Provide expert advice across engineering and project teams

What We’re Looking For

Degree in

Naval Architecture or Maritime Engineering

5+ years’ experience in a similar role within yacht building or shipbuilding

Strong knowledge of

class rules, regulations, and compliance standards

Experience with tools such as

AutoCAD, CADMatic, Delftship (or similar)

Solid understanding of

stability, weight control, and yacht design principles

Fluent in

English

(Dutch is a plus)
