Role Location:
Friesland, Netherlands— 5 days per week onsite (with flexibility)

Role and Responsibilities:
Signify have partnered up with a leading industrial equipment manufacturer to find an Embedded Software Engineer who's ready to make their mark. This isn't a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo– they want fresh thinking, a hunger to learn, and the drive to push their products forward.
You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, developing and improving the embedded systems that power precision industrial equipment used worldwide. You'll have real ownership of your work and collaborate closely with mechanical and systems engineers in a hands‑on environment.
Design, develop and maintain embedded software for precision industrial equipment
Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code in C, C++ and Python
Collaborate with hardware, mechanical and systems engineering teams to integrate software with physical devices
Contribute to improving existing systems architecture and propose forward‑thinking solutions
Participate in testing, debugging and validation of embedded software
Bring new ideas to the table and actively contribute to the team's technical evolution
Job Requirements:
3+ years of commercial embedded software engineering experience
Background in equipment manufacturing, mechanical or industrial sector environments
Strong hands‑on experience with C and C++
Proficiency in Python
Solid knowledge of Linux in an embedded context
Qt (cross‑platform C++ framework for embedded/industrial GUIs) – desirable, not essential
CMake (embedded C/C++ build tooling)– desirable, not essential
A genuine curiosity to learn, upskill and bring new approaches to the team
Strong communication skills in English
Collaborative mindset– you'll be part of a tight‑knit engineering team
Must be based in the Netherlands
