Description The Director group control&external reporting leads the consolidation of all the group’s entities, the Accounting / IFRS center of excellence, corporate financial controlling and reporting to all external stakeholders (shareholders, lenders, ESG reporting, auditor). These activities are essential for delivering credible and reliable external reporting operations and best‑in‑class internal financial processes. The role ensures a single source of truth supporting accurate and timely financial discipline, consistent reporting and compliance in the numbers. You will guide and support a diverse team of six specialists in external reporting (IFRS, INREV, USALI, ESG), financialcontrollers and consolidation. You directly report to the CFO, as smooth, fast and reliable financial reporting is a key element of the company's success. You have direct engagement with external stakeholders such as the auditor, lenders and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure timely and accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end consolidation in accordance with IFRS, local statutory requirements and internal policies.

Responsible for all external reporting: the annual integrated report (financials and ESG), reporting to shareholders and lenders, and act as a key contact for external financial stakeholders.

Represent the Finance function to the Executive team and Board, providing critical insight and translating financial data into practical insights for business stakeholders.

Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, ensuring readiness and transparency.

Maintain and enhance accounting standards and internal control frameworks, supporting global compliance.

Coordinate across regions and domains with various finance teams and global peers to ensure harmonised financial processes and alignment with global finance policies.

Support tax and compliance processes by coordinating accurate and timely input for local filings in close collaboration with the global tax team.

Write position papers and consult with group and local GAAP advisors regarding IFRS and local GAAP reporting issues.

Ensure compliance with complex accounting issues by providing technical assessments to support compliance with new and existing accounting, sustainability and regulatory standards.

Define and monitor service‑delivery KPIs and SLAs, driving accountability and continuous improvement across the team.

Drive automation, standardisation and system optimisation, maximising efficiency through ERP (BC365), PowerBI and financial tooling (Tagetik).

Contribute to solving complex challenges by exploring new approaches and sharing solutions across the organisation.

Support succession planning and long‑term capability development, identifying growth paths, mentoring team members and building a resilient finance function.

Qualifications / Skills

Master’s degree in auditing&control, finance or accounting.

Extensive experience in Finance&Accounting.

Ability to keep the big picture while paying attention to detail, being structured, organised and able to work under pressure and as part of a global team.

Strong communication skills, able to communicate on various levels and with different stakeholders.

Experience leading and developing diverse teams in scope, deliverables and background.

Knowledge of Tagetik and Microsoft BC365 is an advantage and proven proficiency in the use of PowerBI.

Strong interest and demonstrated experience in improving accounting processes.

Location / hours Leiden Support Office; hybrid working is possible in accordance with business needs. Two to three days in the office per week. Not fully remote. This is a full‑time role.
