What You’ll Be Doing As

Controller , you take full ownership of Nebul’s financial administration, financial close, consolidation and management reporting. This is not just a bookkeeping role. You are responsible for the integrity of the full financial process: from purchase invoices, sales invoices, bank transactions and payroll processing, all the way through toreconciled ledgers, consolidated reports, forecasts, budgets and audit-ready financial statements.

You work closely with senior management and departmental leads to explain financial results, improve decision-making and help the organization plan ahead. You make sure the numbers are correct, complete and understandable.

A key part of this role is also improvement. Nebul is building modern infrastructure, and our finance function should match that mindset. You will actively identify opportunities to automate financial workflows, improve reporting, and use AI and tooling wherever possible to reduce manual work and increase accuracy.

Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of the financial administration, including purchase invoices, sales invoices, bank transactions and payroll-related processing. Lead the financial consolidation process and ensure accurate group-level reporting across all entities. Own the periodic financial close process, including preparation and delivery of management reports.Support forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis. Ensure the general ledger, financial records and supporting documentation are accurate, complete and fully reconciled. Identify discrepancies, process gaps or control issues, resolve them quickly and implement structural improvements. Manage month-end reviews with departmental heads, explaining results and supporting forward-looking planning.Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure all financial data is complete, traceable and audit-ready. Drive continuous improvement in financial workflows, consolidation methods and administrative procedures. Own financial compliance topics, including VAT, wage tax, CIT, WBSO, statutory financial statements and internal financial policies.Collaborate with other departments to exchange financial information and improve cross-functional processes. Actively automate financial and administrative processes through tooling, AI and smarter systems.

What Your Day Will Not Look Like Only processing invoices without understanding the bigger financial picture. Waiting for others to take ownership of the close, reporting or reconciliations. Accepting manual processes as“just the way things are.” Producing reports without explaining what the numbers mean.Working in isolation from the business. Treating finance as administration only, instead of as a key part of operational control and decision-making.

What You Bring 3–5 years of experience in a similar finance, accounting or controlling role. Strong understanding of financial administration, month-end close, reconciliations and reporting. Familiarity with accounting software and strong Excel skills. Experience with financial operations in a scaling organization is a strong plus.A structured and process-driven way of working. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong sense of ownership and accountability for financial output. Integrity and discretion when working with sensitive financial information. Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to use automation, AI and tooling to improve finance processes. Flexibility and eagerness to grow with the organization.

Bonus Points If You Have Experience with financial consolidation across multiple entities. Experience supporting audits or preparing statutory financial statements. Knowledge of Dutch tax and compliance topics such as VAT, wage tax, CIT and WBSO. Experience implementing or improving finance systems and reporting tools.Affinity with automation, AI tools or modern finance operations. Experience in a technical, infrastructure, cloud or scale-up environment.

Eligibility&Application Information We welcome non-native Dutch speakers to apply. However, to be eligible, you must: Have a valid EU work permit. Reside in the Netherlands and be able to commute to the office when required. Be fluent in English. Dutch language skills are a plus, especially for tax, payroll and compliance communication.
