Helping low-literate people on Friday morning in IJsselzand community center For a small group of adult students who have difficulty with basic skills, we are looking for a volunteer who can help our teacher.

Do you like to:

help students with assignments and clarify questions.

help students to start up the computer and provide support on the computer.

Read assignments to be carried out in small groups.

Go along with the teacher's plans.

Come up with ideas yourself.

Can you help correct writing products.

The group consists of approximately 12 students. The learning questions are very diverse. A few students have a non-Dutch language background.

What most students have in common is that they are insecure, sometimes also fearful of failure and have low self-esteem. A lot of attention is paid to this in the group by focusing on what is going well, by giving lots of compliments and by ensuring a socially good and safe atmosphere.

What do you get in return?

A travel allowance when the travel distance is longer than 5 km.

The ROC has taken out a collective liability insurance (WEGAS) to cover the organization and the volunteers against possible consequences of damage.

Guidance by the teacher

A Christmas package in December and an invitation to the annual ROC party.

Varied work with students who are motivated to learn the language but have more difficulty with this due to their background.
