is seeking a

Mission Analysis Engineer

to join our Mission Analysis team at

ESTEC . Our team focuses on supporting the design of space missions from a mission engineering perspective, developing software tools for mission analysis studies, and conducting research in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics. Current DEIMOS activities include: Interplanetary missions (planets, astronomy, minor bodies, etc.)Earth observation and lunar missions Software Development Planetary Defence Formation flying Space transportation systems and re-entry vehicles Planetary entry, descent and landing What's the challenge? Model and simulate space systems, including space environment and space vehicle dynamicsDevelop software tools in support of mission analysis actions Maintain and develop software tools in support of mission analysis actions What we're looking for: Technical Skills: Strong theoretical background in classical mechanics High proficiency in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics Knowledge of optimization theory and techniquesAdditional valued skills include: Proficiency in programming languages: Python, C++, Fortran, Java, MATLAB Experience in object-oriented programming Experience working in an ESA environment Educational background: Professional Experience: 2-5 years in relevant domains (PhD studies may also be considered)Language Skills: Excellent command of English, both spoken and written Personal Attributes: High motivation Initiative and autonomy in solving complex problems Responsibility towards customers and team members Willingness to work in groups What We Offer: Innovative Projects:
