Your role in our team

We are looking for a Jira&Confluence Administrator to manage and support our Atlassian environment for a large and diverse user base. Your primary focus will be on administering and optimizing Jira Datacenter and Confluence, designing workflows, and supporting process automation initiatives.

When Atlassian-related work is quiet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to DevOps and system administration tasks, gaining exposure to technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities include:

Administer and maintain our on-premise Jira Datacenter system, including updates, versioning, monitoring, and security.

Design and implement Jira custom workflows, screens, and fields.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyse requirements and translate them into Jira-based solutions.

Provide user support and training for the user base.

Assist with DevOps and sysadmin tasks such as container management, CI/CD, and system maintenance.

Bring your world class expertise into play

Technical Skills:

Strong experience in Jira and Confluence administration.

Ability to manage large-scale environments and user requests.

Good understanding of IT processes and agile methodologies.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills, both towards end-users and ESA/ESTEC stakeholders

Proactive in identifying issues and improvement opportunities

Fluent in English both writing and speaking

Desired Background:

Bachelor’s or Master’s-level working and thinking capability in Computer Science, System Administration, or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable role

Experience with ESA/ESTEC or other European research institutions is considered an asset

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps concepts.

Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash, Python).

Experience with migrating from on-premise to Atlassian Cloud

This is a full-time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The foreseen start of work is as soon as possible.
