We are currently looking for a
FEM Design Engineer
to join the team in
Rotterdam . As a FEM Design Engineer, you will develop FEM and analytical models to understand tip-sample interactions and cantilever behavior, contributing to the development and improvement of innovative metrology solutions. You will join a diverse research and development team, where your role will involve analyzing and predicting customer needs, translating them into system requirements, creating conceptual designs, and building experimental setups to demonstrate new capabilities.
Evaluate
feasibility
and conduct
concept evaluations
for metrology systems. Guide improvements
for measurement modes, enhancing throughput, precision, and measurement capabilities. Stay updated
with the latest developments in FEM and analytical modeling to identify new opportunities to meet future customer demands.
Recommend
design changes or material substitutions
for current products when necessary. Perform experiments and support customer demos outside office hours (approximately 5% of your time). Requirements
PhD
in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering. Experience in the development of FEM and analytical models for industrial solutions; experience in the semiconductor field is a plus. Deep knowledge of
elastic elements ,
mechanics ,
precision mechanics designs , and controlling degrees of freedom. Proficiency in using
COMSOL
and/or similar platforms for FEM, as well as
MATLAB . Ability to
document
work results with system requirements, design specifications, procedures, and training materials. Proficiency in
English , both written and spoken. Creative and analytical mindset. Strong teamwork skills. Ability to work independently. Are you enthusiastic about becoming our new FEM Design Engineer?
