Senior Networking Engineer, Rotterdam

APM Terminals is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure with a focus on Cisco networking technologies, security and industrial switching. Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies, including stacking, Virtual Stack, spanning‑tree, trunking, SVI, and ACL. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Network Address Translation (NAT) and its implementation in various network environments.Utilize Cisco ASA or similar security products to provide network security solutions and maintain a secure infrastructure. Possess extensive experience with Fortigate or similar security products within the field of network security. Work with OT environments and industrial switching equipment such as Westermo, Siemens, Moxa, and ProfiNet.Understand and implement security measures within a logistics network, including customs perimeter. Provide expertise and support in Cisco Wireless LAN technologies, if available. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure network infrastructure meets the organization's requirements. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Substantial years of experience working with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and protocols. In‑depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies.Strong understanding of network security principles, with hands‑on experience in Cisco ASA, Fortigate and similar security products. Experience working in OT environments and industrial switching equipment (Westermo, Siemens, Moxa, ProfiNet). Knowledge of security protocols and measures within a logistics network, including customs perimeter.Cisco Wireless LAN experience is a plus. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
