Second Engineer - DP-Ready, Automated Water Injection Lead, Rotterdam

As Second Engineer on our Water Injection Dredgers, you are the technical expert on board, ensuring dredging and propulsion systems run smoothly and reliably. As the only engineer, you carry full technical responsibility and work independently, supported by onshore specialists when needed. You maintain and optimize automated systems, keep them in top condition, perform maintenance and contribute to continuous improvements. You also ensure clear documentation and reporting, supporting reliable vessel performance wherever they operate.Water Injection Dredging is a specialised technique in which the seabed is fluidised, allowing sediment to be moved efficiently and precisely. You have knowledge of electrical systems. You work independently, focus on solutions and take ownership of the engine room.In this role, you will bring the following:You hold a valid COC Second Engineer and all required certificates You have proven experience as a Second Engineer or Chief Engineer You have a passion for technology, automation and innovation You have strong problem solving skills and can act quickly when needed Experience on DP vessels is a plusWorking at sea requires responsibility, independence and teamwork. You are part of a small team of 5 to 7 crew members and work in a 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off rotation.The environment is dynamic and international, focused on technical excellence.
