Purpose The Senior Engineer designs and engineers solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, contributing to project and organizational strategic objectives and long‑term success. The role supports the enhancement of SBM’s competitive advantage by developing new technologies and concepts aligned with SBM and SBM Technology strategy. In addition, the role conducts and coordinates engineering activities in support of specific proposals, technology studies, or(pre)FEEDs. The Senior Engineer contributes to identifying cost‑effective innovations and developments and is accountable for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables, as well as ensuring appropriate internal hand‑over.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards, and regulations.
Responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within the agreed time frame and budget, as well as ensuring system interfaces.
Ensures that the Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
Ensures applicable lessons learned are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
Coordinates with vendors, subcontractors, and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
May be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement, and manufacture of the package.
Starts leading engineers on assigned scope of work.
May act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work.
Responsible for developing ideas into concepts through studies, through definition of scope of work to come up with the optimal solution.
Responsible for solving problems by involving and challenging other engineering teams, interacting with proposal and framing teams, and interacting with Business Development on studies.
Responsible for reviewing data, performing analytics, preparing presentations and suggestions, and delivering studies in line with KPIs. In larger study teams, cooperates with the Technology Project Engineer and reports to the Technology Project Manager.
Education
Engineer Diploma in a relevant discipline
Experience
5 to 10 years in the Oil&Gas industry
