Vacancy information As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you take ownership of technical project execution while supporting and guiding colleagues within multidisciplinary engineering teams. You combine hands‑on engineering expertise with strong coordination and communication skills toward clients, project managers, and stakeholders.

You will work on industrial projects in sectors such as waste processing, steel production, energy, and sustainable process industries. The role combines office‑based engineering activities with on‑site collaboration at client locations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems for industrial projects.

Execute mechanical engineering activities during study, concept, and basic engineering phases.

Define and manage technical project scope together with the client and Project Manager, including planning, reporting, interfaces, and deliverables.

Coordinate and support assigned designers and engineers through technical guidance and review activities.

Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful integration of multidisciplinary solutions.

Create and develop 3D mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor.

Perform FEM analyses and mechanical calculations, including stress analysis, strength verification, and design validation.

Prepare and review detailed mechanical designs for equipment and machine components.

Contribute to efficient, safe, high‑quality, and sustainable engineering solutions.

Support knowledge sharing and development of junior engineers within the team.

What do you need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a senior engineering role within complex industrial engineering environments.

Experience working on both mono‑disciplinary and multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Strong background in conceptual and complex mechanical design phases.

Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor for mechanical layouts, equipment design, and production‑ready drawings (mandatory).

Experience performing FEM analyses (mandatory); experience with ANSYS is considered an advantage.

Familiarity with applicable industry standards and regulations such as ISO, API, European standards, and Machinery Directive / CE marking requirements.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and management.

Proactive mindset with strong ownership and problem‑solving capabilities.

Experience coaching or supporting junior engineers is considered a strong plus.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Must have: Dutch language skills at minimum B2 level or willingness to further develop these skills.
