About this Position

Functional Coatings, Films and Adhesives is a program at TNO/ Brightlands Materials Center focused on developing innovative materials and coatings that reduce building energy consumption. The program covers topics such as thermochromic materials, recycling of critical raw materials, and induction heating.Responsibilities

Prepare functional materials for coatings, inorganic nanomaterials, or nanocomposite polymer films with tailored optical or other functional properties for use in windows, photovoltaic panels, or circular glass/composite products. Characterize the structure and composition of the prepared materials.Evaluate performance in real‑life and accelerated life‑time tests. Analyze data and conduct evaluations. Present progress and planning on a weekly basis to the supervisor and the group. Qualifications

Enrolled as a BSc or MSc student (or vocational education student) in chemistry or a related field. Hands‑on mentality with experience working in a laboratory environment. Affinity for chemical synthesis. Good written and spoken English communication skills. Committed to an internship period of at least four months.Benefits
