Cyber Security Engineer, Terneuzen

Overview As a Cyber Security Engineer you'll play a critical role in the development of a secure cyber design for our frigates, specifically for the German F126 program. Your expertise will be essential throughout the entire project lifecycle, supporting the success of the four frigates and their associated training centers to safeguard delivery to our respected German customer (BAAINBw).

Key Accountabilities

Contribute to the engineering process by developing required deliverables such as specification documents, functional descriptions, schematic drawings and test/validation plans.

Participate in discussions with experts in IT security and radiation technology.

Supervise changes in IT security regulations and advise internal/external stakeholders.

Contribute to analysis and verification plans for IT security measures.

Participate in design checks and reviews to guarantee cybersecurity standards.

Verify technical performance of vendors and subcontractors.

Perform technical analysis on received offers in close cooperation with the Purchase department.

Ensure full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications imposed by Class and the customer.

Provide technical support or commissioning activities to projects under contract.

Work with vendors and subcontractors to secure timely project contributions.

Contribute to further development of the E&A Engineering department.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial Automation, IT Systems, Information Security Management or another relevant discipline.

Minimum of five years’ experience in the design or maintenance of complex IT or OT systems, preferably in ships, offshore or industrial installations.

Extensive experience and broad knowledge of networking and IT systems, including related hardware infrastructure and system hardening.

Broad knowledge of networking architectures, layers and protocols, cybersecurity concepts, data encryption and radiation safety.

Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations related to cybersecurity, such as ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.

Willingness to work with German security standards.

Experience with the German Armed Forces standards A‑960/1 and A‑962/1 and experience using the SAVe tool from the company Infodas is an advantage.

Experience working with third‑party vendors and subcontractors.

Good command of German and English (written&verbal).

Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

Permanent EU citizenship and passport required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non‑EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our operations.
