Customs&Trade Counsel, Utrecht

We are seeking an experienced Customs&Trade Counsel to take ownership of global Customs operations and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership across the EMEA region and beyond. This is a high impact role with broad visibility, leading Customs strategy, operational compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration across the international supply chain.You will work closely with Logistics, Distribution, Production, Sourcing, Legal, Finance, external brokers, government authorities, and specialist consultants. You will lead and develop the global operational Customs team and drive continuous improvement across Trade Compliance processes. Responsibilities

Lead global Customs and Trade Compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions Oversee audits, risk assessments, AEO programs, regulatory inquiries, and corrective action plans Ensure ongoing compliance with global trade laws, labeling rules, and packaging requirements Partner with Project Management, Shipping, Transportation, Procurement, Finance, Logistics, and Legal teams to implement new Customs requirements and controlsIdentify compliance gaps and implement scalable process improvements across the global supply chain Act as the senior escalation point for Customs and Trade‑related matters Qualifications

Bachelor level education or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in global Customs and international Trade Compliance Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Proven experience driving Compliance improvements and operational change Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage shifting prioritiesExperience working across complex, international supply chain environments EMEA Recruitment is committed to promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.
