Business Architect, Utrecht

An opportunity for a business architect to join a leading financial institution in the Netherlands. The initiative focuses on using AI to accelerate and improve the software development lifecycle. You will help define how AI can make software development faster and more effective.

The role focuses on connecting business architecture with technology, organisational change and senior stakeholder management. You will translate strategic AI objectives into clear capabilities, architecture choices and change initiatives. You will provide direction, structure complex topics, and helping senior stakeholders make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Define and shape business architecture within the AI Hub.

Translate strategic AI objectives into business capabilities, processes and change initiatives.

Identify opportunities to improve and accelerate the software development lifecycle through AI.

Connect stakeholders across business, engineering, enterprise technology and senior management.

Prepare architecture directions, roadmaps and decision‑making materials.

Work within a virtual department with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Create buy‑in for AI‑driven change within software development.

Requirements

Extensive experience as a Business Architect, Enterprise Architect or comparable strategic architect.

Experience in complex enterprise environments, preferably financial services or another regulated sector.

Strong understanding of software development and the software development lifecycle.

Previous hands‑on experience as a software engineer, developer or similar technical role.

Affinity with AI and its application within engineering and development processes.

Ability to translate abstract strategic themes into concrete architecture choices.

Experience working in virtual or multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to create clarity, direction and buy‑in.
