Program Solution Architect / Solution Engineer

For a large-scale and complex application transition program, we are looking for an experienced Program Solution Architect / Solution Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, steering, and governing the architecture within a business‑critical transformation environment.

You will operate at the intersection of business, IT, and vendors, translating program objectives into scalable and achievable architectural solutions. A key responsibility is determining the optimal migration strategy per application or workload using the 7 R’s migration framework (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Retire, Retain, Relocate).

The environment consists of a highly diverse enterprise application landscape, including ERP, BI, analytics, data integration, security, and facility management platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and govern end‑to‑end transition architectures for complex application migration programs

Define target‑state and intermediate‑state architectures

Perform gap analyses and impact assessments

Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, and feasibility throughout the program lifecycle

Assess applications and workloads to determine the most suitable migration approach

Document architectural decisions and migration strategies using ADRs and migration canvases

Support decision‑making processes with clear architectural recommendations

Stakeholder Management

Act as a trusted advisor to:

Program Managers

Project Managers

Domain Architects

Vendors and suppliers

SMEs and engineering teams

Clearly communicate and defend architectural decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Governance&Compliance

Contribute to architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures

Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements, including PCI DSS

Drive standardization and governance across the transition landscape

Identify and mitigate architectural risks, dependencies, and conflicting priorities

Support continuity and stability within mission‑critical environments

Provide technical leadership and oversight during migration and implementation activities

Evaluate vendor solutions for architectural fit, compliance, scalability, and maintainability

Knowledge Sharing&Coaching

Coach domain architects and lead engineers

Contribute to building and maintaining architectural knowledge within the organization

Required Experience&Skills Mandatory Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT architecture

Minimum 3 years operating at program level as:

Solution Architect

Solution Engineer

Minimum 2 years of experience in complex application transition programs

Application Transition Expertise

Proven experience with end‑to‑end application migrations in enterprise‑critical environments

Strong experience applying the 7 R’s migration framework

Experience operating simultaneously on strategic, tactical, and operational levels

Technical Environment Experience with at least 3 of the following domains/platforms:

Experience within payment processing or financial services
