EHS Consultant - Netherlands, Utrecht

ERM is seeking a motivated EHS Consultant to join our team in the Netherlands. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who is passionate about driving change in both processes and behaviors, and who is committed to delivering high-quality Environmental, Health&Safety (EHS) solutions to our clients.You will be part of ERM’s Safe and Sustainable Solutions (SSO) team in Belgium and the Netherlands (BeNe)—a dynamic and growing group of EHS professionals supporting a wide portfolio of industrial clients. The team is recognized for its strong on-the-ground expertise, partnering closely with clients to deliver practical, solution-oriented support across operational EHS challenges. Working within SSO means being embedded in client environments, driving continuous improvement in safety culture, compliance, and sustainability performance, while collaborating with ERM’s broader network of technical experts acrossthe region.As part of our consulting team, you will support the delivery of EHS services across the region, working alongside experienced subject matter experts on a wide range of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will contribute to the successful delivery of EHS projects by supporting a variety of activities, including:Supporting the execution of EHS diagnostics, audits, and compliance assessments, ensuring high technical standardsProviding technical assistance in EHS audits and site assessmentsContributing to the development of EHS standards, permitting documentation, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and technical reportsSupporting the integration of sustainability initiatives into client operationsAssisting in the development of risk assessments, health&safety procedures, and related programsSupporting the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelinesPreparing high-quality deliverables under the guidance of senior consultants and subject matter expertsCollaborating with Partners and Project Managers to support effective project executionBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and professionalismWorking collaboratively with ERM colleagues across teams and geographiesSkills&ExperienceStrong communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and effectively convey complex ideasDemonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and drive in a consulting or industry environmentAbility to manage priorities and contribute effectively within project teamsStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externallyQualificationsBSc or MSc in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline2+ years of relevant experience, either within a consulting environment or in an industry role with significant EHS exposureFluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)Solid business acumen, with the ability to understand client challenges, risks, and opportunitiesWhy Join ERMAt ERM, you will be part of a global leader in sustainability consulting, working on meaningful projects that help organizations create long-term value while addressing environmental and societal challenges.
